Welcome to the health page for the Warren School. Since 2010, I have been working part time as the school nurse. The health office, located adjacent to the front office, is a place where students come when sick, injured or simply need a break.
Monday: 7:15am – 11am
Tuesday: 7:15am – 3:00pm
Wednesday: 7:15am – 12:00pm
Thursday: 7:15am – 12:00pm
*The office is covered by Heidi Greene when I am not scheduled.
Immunization Entry Requirements
Vermont’s immunization law requires vaccination of all children enrolled in childcare or school. Immunizations protect both individuals and the community. An official immunization record must be presented to the school upon admission. If you choose to exempt your child from vaccinations, a form must be filled out annually and kept on file in the health office.
Students entering kindergarten must provide documentation of the following:
5 doses of DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis) vaccine
4 doses of polio vaccine 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine
3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine 2 doses of chickenpox (varicella) vaccine.
If the student has previously had chickenpox disease no vaccine is needed.
Throughout the year, I also teach health classes to grades K-6. All classes follow the VT Framework of Standards for Health Education. Topics covered in health include personal health and wellness; nutrition and physical activity; violence and injury prevention; social and sexual health; mental and emotional health; and alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
